The following information has a sample itinerary and information about estimated costs. There is a  website for the hotel where we will be staying. The estimated payments dates are listed. Deposits are due by September 2nd.

Wednesday, June 3, 2009:  Arrival, Lei greeting, hotel check-in, Pizza Party.

TBA                       Leave Fort Smith and fly to Honolulu. We will probably fly from Kansas City,                                                                        or Dallas or both. Depending on the flight times, we may leave by bus on the night of                                                              June2nd.

TBA                       Lei greeting by a representatives at the gate.  You will then be escorted to baggage claim where our rep will assist them with their luggage.  The group will then be boarded onto a motor coach for transfer to either Sheraton Waikiki.

Evening                 Pizza Party at the hotel to go over information. You can also enjoy beach time.

 

Thurs., June 4: USS Missouri Performance, Alii Kai Catamaran Dinner Cruise.

 

6:00am                    Sack breakfast from hotel (fruit, drink, breakfast sandwich).

 

7:00am                     Depart to Pearl Harbor. Visit the memorial site that led the United States into World War II.  Your visit to Pearl Harbor promises to be a tour you will never forget, you will gain a greater appreciation for those serving in the military to protect our great nation. You will place a wreath at the USS Arizona. After Pearl Harbor we will board the trolleys to the USS Missouri for your Tribute Performance.  After your performance, take your group photo, enjoy your brown bag lunch and then take a self-guided tour of the USS Missouri.  Return to Hotel at

 

2:00pm                    Return to hotel for free time.

 

 

Fri., June 5: Dole Plantation, North Shore, Circle Island BBQ, Planet Hollywood, Block Party.

 

7:00am                    Breakfast at Shorebird’s restaurant.

 

8:00am                    Board bus for Circle Island Tour for a full day of activities.  Tour will begin with stops at Dole Plantation and picture taking shop at Sunset Beach.  The group will then make a stop on a North Shore beach (Kokololio) for a local style lunch (hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, toss salad, banana bread, chips and drinks)  with games (volleyball, football, Frisbee, etc.) as well as time to take a swim at the beach (2. 5 - 3 hours at the beach.  Lifeguards will be provided).  The tour will continue with a stop at the Macadamia Nut Farm before returning to the hotel by 3:00pm.  Stop at Hilo Hatties for shopping will be included.

 

5:30pm                    Dinner at Planet Hollywood.

 

Evening                 Block Party for Opening Ceremonies of the Pan Pacific Festival.

 

Sat., June 6: Pali Lookout, Polynesian Cultural Center

 

8:00am                    Breakfast at Shorebirds. 

 

 

11:30am                  Arrive at Hawaii’s # 1 paid attraction, at the Polynesian Cultural Center. Your dinner will be at the Gateway Buffet, and in the evening, the group will watch the biggest Polynesian Show in the world. At the Polynesian Cultural Center you will have a chance to see the Canoe Pageant, ride the canoe tour, with the Imax Movie and be sure not to miss the Tahitian, Samoan, New Zealand, and Tongan Village’s. After the evening show we will depart to your Hotel at 9:00pm

Sun., June 7: Diamond Head Hike, Pan Pacific Parade, Dinner at the Hard Rock Café.

                               

7:00am                    Breakfast at Shorebird’s.

 

8:00am                    Board the school buses for a 10 minute transfer to hike atop the most famous mountain in the Pacific, Diamond Head.  Be sure to bring comfortable shoes and a bottle of water.  It is considered a moderate hike that will take approximately 45 minutes to get the top and 30 minutes to come down.  Upon getting to the top, you will witness the most beautiful panoramic view of the shores of Waikiki and Honolulu as well as the beautiful Manoa Valley and Koolau Mountains. You will enjoy a tour of the city and of the Punch Bowl.

 

12:00pm                  Lunch on their own and free time before parade.

 

3:00pm                    Board bus for transfer to Fort DeRussey to warm up for the parade

 

5:00pm                    Parade begins to celebrate 50 years of Hawaii statehood.

 

6:30pm                    Following the parade, the group will have a brief awards ceremony before being transferred to Bubba Gump’s Shrimp Company or Cheesecake Factory for dinner.

 

Monday June 8:  Beach time, Shopping, Departures

 

7:00am                    Breakfast at Planet Hollywood.

 

8:00am                    Last chance to enjoy the beach and shopping at the International Marketplace.

 

11:00am                  Checked out with bags in lobby.  If flight is later in the evening, group will load instruments into the truck and have lunch on their own before meeting back at the hotel 3 hours prior to flight to load for airport departure.

 

TBA                       Meet at the hotel 3 hours prior to flight departure to board motor coach for transfer to the airport for return flight home. Bus back to Fort Smith.

                        Any fuel surcharges added by the airlines will be paid by those individuals going on the trip.
